The Year of Ming

Happy New Year! It's hard to believe it's 2007 already. I can't say I'm sorry to see 2006 end. It was a pretty disappointing year. We were so sure 2006 was going to be the year our little Ming finally came home. The only good thing about 2006 is that it really did fly by. Everybody I know has said the same thing. It seemed to be one of the fastest years I can remember. I hope the first half of 2007 goes as quickly. Once Ming gets here, though, it can slow down again.

We really believe we'll get our referral this year so my mom and I have officially dubbed 2007 the Year of Ming. I think that has a lovely ring to it.

Referrals came out this week and I really don't know what to think. They went up to September 27th. That's 19 days. In terms of the number of days, it's good news. However, as far as number of referrals, it's not such good news. Most of the days in there were considered light days so it's definitely not an increase. Apparently September 29th is a huge day. A lot of people thought they were going to get through the 29th so there was a lot of disappointment. I'm concerned because October and November are really big months so I'm afraid things may slow down even more. I did the math and if they do 14 days of referrals per month we should have our referral by June. I really think June is the best case scenario. I just hope it doesn't slow down any more. I'm so ready to be a mommy.
