Waiting (and waiting) for Ming

The very long journey to our daughter

Shen Dan Kuai Le

I hope I got that right. That's Merry Christmas in Mandarin. We're leaving for Texas tomorrow morning. Last Christmas we really thought Ming would be here with us this Christmas and that we would be taking her home for her first Christmas in Texas. Surely she'll be here by next Christmas. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and that 2007 brings good news for all of us.

Another anniversary

Tomorrow is another anniversary we never thought we'd mark. It's the one year anniversary of our LID (log-in date). At this time last year we really thought our little Ming would be home by now and getting ready to celebrate her first Christmas with us. Who would have thought we'd still be so far away?

Another thing we didn't anticipate having to do was get re-fingerprinted by USCIS (formerly INS). Fingerprints are only good for 15 months (how do fingerprints expire?) and we are rapidly approaching the 15 month mark so we had to get that done. We took care of that Wednesday. Hopefully we won't have to do that again.

I found another stuffed panda for Ming. I got this one at CVS. The Build-A-Bear panda is wearing a red dress so I got the blue dress at CVS. They're both so cute.
